Birth Announcement

She is finally here! Macie Noel Butler was born on 12/24/07. I had the privilege to watch the birth of my niece along side of my mother and Jeremy(Macie's father).
The only word that comes to mind about watching her birth is AMAZING!
I am still in awe of the miracle of life after witnessing such act.
I feel such a strong bond with her and an even stronger with Sarah then before by being a part of this wonderful event in my baby sister's life.

I cannot wait until Sarah will be able to share this experience with me when I give birth to my own child, I will certainly invite her to partake in this wonderful witnessing of life being birthed.

Please take joy in the slide show that I have prepared.. I love Macie so much, that I can only imagine what a love for my own will be like.

Please keep me and Dewey in your prayers as we are going start where we left off with fertility treatments to aide us is conceiving our very own miracle.

I'm Back, finally after more than a month from blogging. It seems I can't find the time to blog lately, or maybe my life is just boring.

Since my last post about joining a Women's Pro Football team I am seriously thinking of dropping out. I did not realize what an amount of money it was going to cost to purchase the equipment that I need. Not to mention that during conditioning practice I puke each time. Maybe my daddy was right, "You're too old to play football!"

Although there are other women that play in their early to late forties.

I am not a quitter, but I must use common sense about this matter and I just can't constitute going into debt to play football!
The DREAM was good while it lasted.....so for now, I will just enjoy the game as a fan. Speaking of, TENN lost against LSU in the SEC Championship game today-BUMMER:(

Well, I guess now that I am no longer M.I.A. I will try to blog more often and regularly.

On a more THANKFUL note: My husband is so supportive, He encouraged me not to give my dream to play football. He knows hoe much I want to play, but we cam to an agreement that it is not worth us going into a deeper debt or me getting injured
(I am not as young as I used to be - Did I say that out LOUD)

Family Friday

This has been a tiring week for everyone, I believe. We ended this week with a nice dinner at Mom and Dad's. Me, Dewey, Sarah, Jeremy and
Malyna ate BBQ ribs, baked taters and salad at Mom and Dad's. The recipe for the ribs was WONDERFUL! After dinner we chilled out on the porch and talked for a while.

I enjoy these times together, although we all live within driving distance with our busy weeks we had a moment to catch up on the latest going on with everyone.

Dad went for a checkup with his Hematologist this week and his white blood count is low again, if not better within three weeks they are going to admit him. Please pray that his blood work gets better!

Well, gotta go join them on the porch for more family time

Holler at me.....

Thankful Thursday

I am thankful for my friend, AnnMarie. I have been down in the dumps lately and she talked with me today and gave me a very needed pep talk. She is a God fearing women that I admire very much. I appreciate her taking time out of her busy day to talk with me. Thanks Dawg!

A God thing happened today-I was thinking about AnnMarie today and I sent her a text, to find out that the Lord laid me upon her heart this very morning, she said a prayer for me while she was commuting to work. Now that's friendship!
I am thankful for Christian co-workers that are not ashamed to speak of God in the workplace.
I am thankful for the cooler temps we have had this week
I am thankful that my Dad received a good report from his Oncologist today...he doesn't have to go back until December(for a 3 month check up) Praise God for HIS healing Power!
I am also thankful for the Internet, it helps me keep in touch with long distant family members
and able to know what is new in their lives & how God is working(i.e. DeeDee).

Manic Monday

Today was another Manic Monday, it was 6 o'clock before I knew it. The weekend absolutely flew by. Weekends aren't as long as they used to be. I have to cram so much in on weekends that come Monday morning its hard to get up and start my week all over again. Most days I wish I could work from home (in my PJ's).

Saturday Me, Dew, Mom, Dad, Maw, and David went to watch Sam play football...it was sooo HOT, thank the Lord for bottled H2O. I don't see how the young guys stood the heat in their football pads...I was roasting just sitting on the sidelines. After the game Dew, Mom, Dad, and I went shopping at my Mom's favorite store, WALMART! We had a great time, I always love spending time with my Mom and Dad no matter what we are doing. I love them SOOOO much!

Yesterday we celebrated my Grandfather's 68th birthday....I wish everyone could meet my Grandfather, he such a wonderful man(and a really comical guy too)! He has such a BIG heart and would give the shirt right off his back to a stranger if they needed it more than himself.

I was hoping for a road trip this weekend to spend a weekend away from home with Dew to celebrate our 8th anniversary that is coming up on 9/18/07, but that has been cancelled. We will instead hibernate at the house and watch football most of the day on Saturday and then
go to our usual hangout on Sunday(Maw and Paw's)to spend the day with family.
Which this is not so bad, because I LOVE football. I actually would play on our local Women's Football league if I thought I could keep up with them( I am serious)

Well, I am praying for rain this week-we need it really bad - Dew hasn't had to mow in over a month or two---it is so dry here!

Tomorrow my post will probably be late, I bowl tomorrow night(as I've shared previously)
and I am hoping for my 600! Wish me luck.

Saturday, September 8, 2007

Well we won at home tonight, winning 39-19 against the Southern Miss Eagles. Dewey and I watched the game from 1st qtr to the very end. It started messy, but we still got the Victory!! Next week, we will be on a road trip to the Swamp to face the Florida Gators. I myself am a big 'Gator Hator'. We will be watching as usual from the comfort of our own couch in our PJ's.

Smokey is ready to eat some Gator!

Tribute to Survivor

I love the band, Survivor. Although they formed before my birth in the year of 1977. I remember when I was younger my aunt, Janet loved the song, 'Eye of the Tiger', they released this song in 1982 for the motion picture Rocky III. (I was only 4!)

When we would visit family in TN, she used to play this song ALL.THE.TIME.

I remember it like it was yesterday, that must be why my favorite song is 'Eye of the Tiger'.

I just learned today that lead singer of 'Eye of the Tiger', Dave Bickler is also the singer on the funny commercial ads Real Men of Genius (Bud Light Commercials).

Just a little bit of trivia I thought I would share...... leave yours comments and share your favorite bands with me.

Saturday Morning

Well, we are off to watch Sam play football game this A.M. I am so excited to watch him play.
I hope they win!

Then of course, we have the Tennessee Vols playing Southern Miss tonight at home.

Hopefully they will win this one after getting beat by Cal last week.

It's football time in Tennessee............

Speechless

I haven't had much to say lately, but I thought I would share about my night of bowling last night.

I have bowled for approximately 18 years... My Dad's family includes many avid bowlers. His dad, sisters, brother, me and my sister and my Mom used to.

Anyway, I took several years off (3 to be exact) and this year decided I would start up again, since I miss it so much, and I'm good at it too! When I was 11-12 years old I was in the Nation's Top Ten ( I have a trophy to prove it)!

I started bowling this August in an all Women's league, we meet every Tuesday to bowl with our teams. I started off a little stiff (after all, its been 3 yrs).. I have never bowled a 600 series, which is a big accomplishment for only bowling three games a week. But last night, I came pretty. close. I bowled a 204/180/155=539. I was soooo proud of myself, I smiled all the way home. I will get my 600 before too long!

I mostly enjoy this league because I get to see my sister bowl, although pregnant she bowls every week...not sure how much longer she will be able to, but she has gotten better than me at the sport of bowling.....Love you Sissy.

Sorry if this was a bore, but I do love bowling...probably not as much as my Dad does *wink*wink

TN -CAL

Well, I enjoyed watching football tonight with Dewey. He loves the fact that I am a football fan(and actually understand the game/rules). Too bad the Vols lost against the California Golden Bears.

Final (15) Tennessee (0-1, 0-1 away) (12) California (1-0, 1-0 home)
Golden Bears 45, Volunteers 31
Passing:
Ainge (TENN) 278 yds Rushing:
Forsett (CAL) 154 yds Receiving: Taylor (TENN) 95 yds
I am looking forward to spending a long weekend with family - no work on Monday..Thank God for National Holidays. I have been so tired lately, probably from long work hours-so this weekend will a good time to rest (between football games of course!)
Sunday I will have Tristan again, I need a "Tristan fix". My family loves the little guy (and I can't blame them) he is such a good baby.
Gonna keep it short tonight, need my rest to keep up with Tristan tomorrow.

Rocky Top

I am so excited about the first VOLS game tomorrow at 8pm(est) that I probably said it too many times to Dewey on our way home from Maw and Paw's tonight. I am glad football season is finally here. I hope the VOLS have a good season this year.

Finally Friday

CONGRATULATIONS, DAD FOR COMPLETING ALL CHEMO TREATMENTS TODAY!! WE ARE ALL SO PROUD OF YOU!

Well, it's finally Friday. I thought this week would never end! Work has been slow in the Call Center this week, I have processed a lot of faxes and mail requests from our insureds. For instance, I only answered 8 phone calls all day yesterday. That's for the entire eight hour day!
I am looking forward to this weekend. A three day weekend, thanks to Labor Day.Thank.You.

I have an interesting story to share about what I witnessed in our office yesterday....It goes like this(sorry for such detail, but I am a very analytical person). A gentleman came into the office to receive a check payment from a claim that he filed against our insured, so I call his claim adjuster to assist him. To no avail his adjuster is not available, so I do the next best thing-Call her manager. He.Wasn't.Available.Either. So the gentleman begins to get impatient, so I call
another manager to assist him. When our manager brings the folder of claim information(including the check) the gentleman eagerly takes the check but reviews the check first and starts arguing about the name it was written to. The check was written to he and his wife, he did not want his wife's name on the check....apparently the have been estranged for some years back. He insisted that his 'wife' has nothing to do with this claim and the check should only be issued to him. The manager continues to explain that he and his 'wife' signed the release settlement and the check must be issued to both of them. Get this.....the gentleman insists that his 'wife' has no connection to him what so ever and demands the check be re-issued to him only, although they are not legally separted or divorced. The bad thing about this entire situation, the manager was doing him a favor-he was not the manager involved with his claim, poor manager----so to try and give the customer what he wants)after all, the customer is NEVER WRONG)**wink**wink. The options given were to take the check and have 'wife' endorse it with him to cash it, or we could re-issue a check to him only but would not be available until Friday morning(and the man drove up from ATlanta). Immediately, the man
chose to take the check we already had prepared---funny how a check of $3000 all of a sudden makes someone decided their 'wife' is some connected to them, Huh.

This story was funny to me, thought I would share it....hope you enjoyed.

Remember, as long as you are married you do have a connection to your spouse!

It Was Only A Quarter

Several years ago, a preacher from out-of-state accepted a call to a church in Houston, Texas. Some weeks after he arrived, he had anoccasion to ride the bus from his home to the downtown area. Whenhe sat down, he discovered that the driver had accidentally given him aquarter too much change. As he considered what to do, he thought to himself, 'You'd better give the quarter back.. It would be wrong to keep it.' Then he thought, 'Oh, forget it, it's only a quarter. Who would worry about this little amount? Anyway, the bus company gets too muchfare; they will never miss it. Accept it as a gift from God' and keep quiet.'
When his stop came, he paused momentarily at the door, then he handed the quarter to the driver and said, 'Here, you gave me too much change.' The driver, with a smile, replied, 'Aren't you the new preacher in town? I have been thinking a lot lately about going somewhere to worship. I just wanted to see what you would do if I gave you too much change. I'll see you at church on Sunday.
When the preacher stepped off of the bus, he literally grabbed the nearest light pole, held on, and said, 'Oh God, I almost sold your Son for a quarter.
Our lives are the only Bible some people will ever read. Thisis a really scary example of how much people watch us as Christians andwill put us to the test! Always be on guard and remember that you carry the name of Christ on your shoulders when you call yourself Christian.
Watch your thoughts; they become words.
Watch your words; they become actions.
Watch your actions; they become habits.
Watch your habits; they become character.
Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.
Live life in such a way that those who don't know Jesus will cometo know Jesus because they know you.

Random Thoughts

Recently my best friend, April moved away to West Tennessee to relocate with her husband and family for him to accept a better job. I miss April so much, I don't get to talk with her as often as I would like, although the Internet and phone messaging does help us keep in touch a little.

Yesterday, I attended a baby shower for Sarah's best friend, Jamie with Sarah, my Mom and My Dad. Jamie also is having a baby girl, I loved seeing all the baby stuff she received and it really opened my eyes to how much I am going spoil my niece, Macie once she arrives! It is going to be wonderful watching their girls grow up together and become good friends just like their mother's have. Watch out boys, Kylee and Macie are going to be two beautiful girls! I just can't wait to see both of them after their arrival to the world.

This week, my Dad is scheduled to have his last chemo treatment and I am so excited!! As my mother has shared in her blog: Bumgarner's Blog he has been in tremendous Spirits throughout his entire treatments with cancer. I have always known that my father is a strong man, but I must say he has been even stronger since diagnosed with cancer. He has never given up the faith and I am so proud of him (more proud than before). There is no doubt of God's healing Power in his life.

I am so grateful for my husband, Dewey - He is a very compassionate man and he compliments our marriage so well. We are coming upon our 8th anniversary and I can't believe its already been 8 years. I am glad God placed him in my life (I love you Baby)!!!

House on Fox...check your local listing

Hey, all you Dr. House fans I am sure you already know this, but I thought I would post a friendly reminder...........

I can't wait for this new season......I will be watching, WILL YOU??

Fun Friday Part 2

Oh well, Dew did not win the Toyota FJ Cruiser! But we did have a blast.
The 4 general admission tickets were given to my parents
and my sister joined them.
(hope you guys had fun!)
The Lookouts lost their last home game 5-2, but the game was still great. And the weather?
Not too bad either, it rained lightly before the game and cooled off the temp.
I would have to say, all in all a good night for some baseball.
I have to tell you, Dew's color coded key lasted until the last three eliminated keys were pulled. What a disappointment.
They had a fireworks show after the game, this was the best one I could get on my
camera phone.......

Fun Friday

Well tonight Dew and I will be attending the last home game of our Chattanooga Lookouts game! I can't wait, I have attended more games this year alone then the 16 yrs I have lived here. Another reason we are excited about tonight's game is the Toyota FJ Cruiser posted above, Dew won a chance to win this beauty! He has never won anything in is life, EXCEPT me **wink wink**. We probably don't stand a chance, but it is exciting to be a apart of it at least.

Also, I hope the heat will not be too bad (Who am I kidding!) We originally were sent four general admission tickets in the mail with a color-coded key. We have invited my bosses to attend with (they are husband and wife bosses at my workplace). When they agreed to go, general admission wasn't good enough, so Dan purchased four box seat admissions, so we will be two rows behind our Lookouts dugout....WOW!

Well, I will keep you posted on the results of the Toyota FJ Cruiser Giveaway on Saturday.

Take me out to the ballgame......
